I assume it means that it would overcome the limits of our current energy needs and maybe even meet projected demand for a fully developed planetary economy (i.e. no poor nations) for some time. But I suspect that extra uses for energy could rapidly be developed if "unlimited" energy were available. Whether this innovation will meet expectations it is certainly fascinating how such technologies are progressing. Unlimited is an interesting word choice.
