Good Morning Jay and Good Morning Arnold,

I have begun taking Resveratrol at my dr.s urging and hopefully the next time I have blood work done , it will bear out that resveratrol was a good move.

They have a multi use vehicle called a Bobcat on construction site here in the States. I would love to see the Rescue Robot people get together with tthe Bobcat folks and see what they could create. The ultimate would be an RC type application of this technology.

This is another in a series of good stuff from Technut. Jay continues to improve his reporting and provide even more of an in depth insight into all things related to our technological future. I can see this AI experiment applied to many avenues of everyday life in the future as more is known and understood.

Thanks Arnold, it once again goes to show that we need to ask questions at all times.

I personally wouldn't take any 'life extension drug' that I hadn't researched thoroughly on the net myself.

I'd recommend the same attitude to everybody else.

I expect a lot to happen in the coming decade, Roslyn. If I were you I would hold on as long as I could, because it looks to me like cures are coming.

Browse around on this site in the biotech section and you'll find plenty of breakthroughs listed there.

Since the Dr. Sinclair study was published in Nature a flood of dubious companies have sprung up selling resveratrol. Many have no scientist, no labs, no quality control and no experience. Consumer Lab, an independent testing authority, evaluated the major brands and found many lacking in content and quality. The highest potency products that passed their evaluation were Biotivia, Transmax and Bioforte. A product by Life Extension Co. failed badly with only 26% of the claimed resveratrol. Another brand, Revatrol, had virtually no trans-resveratrol in its supplement. The ConsumerLab test results are available on their web site.

According to the NIH formula for converting from mice to humans the correct dose based upon the published studies is between 400mg and 4,000mg for a 70 kg man. The consensus seems to be that around 1,000mg is appropriate for a preventative dose and twice that to treat an existing condition.

August 16, 2008: As a result of spinal stenosis and in spite of an upper spine operation where metal splints were inserted, I am still dependant on a walker or a cane for walking. Would stem cells be the answer? My 57 year old son has Parkinsons Disease and is on levadopa and other drugs. He still works and drives a car but I know the disease gets progressively worse. When do you believe that the stem cells will be available?

I just looked at the source's source and it seems they want to use some kind of delivery system. I can understand how it would protect the enzyme but I couldn't tell how they plan ti breach the gut mucosa. At any rate, they have given it more thought than I had given them credit for so I apologize to the God of Internet karma.

Of course, they would have to stop calling it "bottled" water. "Sterile-sealed vial water" might be a bit more challenging to market. You would want to make sure you picked the right spelling of "vial".
